YES, THERE ARE massage services and an office hoverboard in the mix, but what makes these Cincinnati companies the coolest is based on something a whole lot more important: Culture.

Cincy Inno took a cue from CultureIQ stats to find its short list of companies “whose culture stands out.” They include the bee-friendly 80 Acres Farms, nonprofit Cincinnati Cares, which uses tech and programming to make the city better, and Genetesis, a cardiac imaging firm that’s attracted the likes of Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban.

To gather their list of the coolest, Cincy Inno sought input from the city’s entrepreneurial community, and its own editorial insight, aided by CultureIQ’s insight on what makes a company culture shine:

“In essence: ‘Company culture is not an isolated initiative,’ CultureIQ wrote in its culture report. ‘It’s not a team-building event or an awesome benefit that your company offers. Culture is how employees get their work done each day. It’s how leadership visibly models positive behaviors … [it’s] an integral driver of your company’s performance that is deeply embedded in every company interaction and process, from recruitment and retention to leadership and mission and values.’”
