When faced with another 5k/10k run in London – this time, one that would benefit educationally disadvantaged students – CultureIQ’s UK team leaped at the chance. On Sept. 17, they took to the Thames, or close to it, for the Teach First Run the River event. The weather was much kinder for the mid-September event than the CultureIQ team’s sweltering July slog, so the energy level at this latest run was ramped up accordingly.
They joined thousands of other runners at the twilight event, which has taken place each year since 2014. Teach First says its mission is to provide support to teachers and students who need it the most so that students can “truly smash the class ceiling.”
Airborne runners shown are CultureIQ’s Joshua Brown, Alexander Gray, Megan Fenech, Yasmin Hill, Roberto Tironi and their guest participant, Orsolya Lazar. Tironi and Hill completed the 10k, while “Megan, Josh and Alex, who were all recovering from various ankle ailments, put in an excellent performance on the 5k route,” Hill reports.
